Issue #4

Greetings from the East!

Brethren and Friends,

A new Masonic year in underway and I am pleased to say that Anchor Bell continues to sail at full vigor!

We had a very good stated meeting in March; begun with our usual meditation and then business taken care of efficiently.  After closing the lodge, we retired to the upstairs lounge where Wo. Bryan Godwin presented “Esoteric Secrets of the First Degree”.  We are going to continue this tradition of short educational presentations and discussions after lodge.  Our next educational presentation for the May stated meeting will be announced soon.  We will also be serving some light refreshments.  We would love to see you there.

We have changed to four stated meetings a year, filling the time in-between with practices, candidate education and, of course, our world-famous festive boards.  We have some good ideas in the cooker for this year and hope you will be able to join us for them.

Our next stated meeting is May 26, 7:00 pm, at Liberal Arts Lodge in Westwood.  We are hoping to have proficiencies performed, works of architecture presented and we will have a presentation on Masons4Mitts by Wo. Bernie Morse, “Captain” for the 2023 Masons 4 Mitts program.  It is always a very proud moment for Anchor Bell to witness our candidates present their works of architecture as they progress through their degrees.  They are thought provoking and insightful, and we always learn from them.

We are hoping to launch a new educational program soon, “Anchor Bell Presents”, available to Masons and those interested in Masonry.  We are very excited about it and hope you will be able to attend.  Stay tuned.

Hope to see you soon.

Wo. Geoff Counter, Master Anchor Bell Lodge No. 868
